BAKER / WOHL ARCHITECTS was selected to design major renovations to this prominent branch library in downtown Boston. BWA proposed a complete new curtain wall system featuring colored mullions and efficient thermal properties. The old exterior wall was removed and the new exterior wall was installed while the library maintained operations open to the public. The entrance approach was redesigned for accessibility as well as graceful and sensitive configuration and use of materials. Accessible restroom facilities were created. New flooring and paint finishes were specified. |
